What happened on Tuesday?
Today we were able to host Beach Club on the beach! As the Sun came out in the early hours of the morning we managed to dry all of the equipment that got soaked yesterday.
As 10:15am approached, we managed to welcome more than a hundred people onto the mound where we remembered how Jesus is our superhero – our protector and friend.
This morning’s To Pie or Not To Pie challenge was to use sponges to transfer as much water as possible from one end of a line to the other in 40 seconds. Again, the leaders were racing against the children, and again, the leaders lost.
In the Beach Club groups (0-3, 4-6, 7-10, 11+), we learnt that just as God was going to use Moses to rescue the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, God can rescue us too.
Groups also joined in an exciting craft activity – in which children created burning bushes, much like the ones God used to speak to Moses. As an extension of the 11+ group’s story, they created Egyptian sarcophagi pencilcases to remember that just as God gave Moses the abilities he needed to free the Israelites, God also gives us our own abilities according to His plan.
When the groups returned to the mound it became time for the To Pie or Not To Pie pie-throwing. As the childrens’ group leader correctly answered the movie question, the leader of the leaders’ group was in for a splat – 3.14 splats!
Join us on Wednesday to learn about the Israelites’ Great Escape from Egypt, where they walked across the Red Sea. You can also read today’s story about Moses & the Burning Bush.
