Offering a range of groups for children of all ages, and a group for parents & toddlers, Beach Club shares Bible characters and parables in a way that everyone can understand. Starting and ending the morning on a mound of sand, the community gather together to enjoy times of listening, learning, and sharing in the wonder of the Bible.
Nearly 90 years ago, at the end of World War 1, the Children’s Special Service Mission (CSSM) chose Mersea as the venue for their special type of Children’s Services. Children heard of Bible characters and parables in a way which they could understand, gathering at a decorated mound of sand to enjoy times of listening, learning, and sharing in the wonder of the Bible.
After World War Two, CSSM carried on for a time, but when they could no longer provide enough workers, the work was continued as it is currently, by workers from the local churches.
