Introduction
To comply with the Data Protection Act 2018, we need permission to take photographs or recordings of children or young people. Occasionally, we may take photographs of children and young people at events. We may use these images on our website or social media pages. We may also make video recordings at events.
There is a journalistic exception in regard to the media and occasionally children’s and young peoples images may appear in local or national newspapers, or on televised news programmes. Please indicate on the form given to you if you do not wish your children or young people to appear in the media. If so, we will try to keep them out of any photographs.
Our Policy & Conditions of the Use of Images
- We will not use personal details or full names (which means first name and surname) of any child or young person in a photographic image or video, on our website, social media, or in printed publications.
- We will not include personal e-mail or postal addresses, or telephone or fax numbers on video, on our website, or in printed publications.
- If we use photographs of individual children or young people, we will not use the name of that child or young person in the accompanying text or photo caption.
- If we name a child or young person in the text, we will not use a photograph of that child or young person to accompany the article.
- We may use group photographs or footage with very general labels, such as ‘children’s day’ or ‘youth festival’.
- We will only use images of children and young people who are suitably dressed, to reduce the risk of those images being used inappropriately.
Violations of our Conditions & Removal Requests
If you are concerned about any image used on our website, social media or publications, or wish for an image of you or your child to be removed from our website, social media or publications, please report the image in question by contacting us (contact@merseabeach.club), and we will endeavour to fulfil your request where reasonably possible.
